Valentino Spring 2019 Couture Show

Pierpaolo Piccioli’s show-stopping Valentino Spring 2019 Couture collection was an absolute highlight of Paris Couture Week. Florals are nothing new to spring runways, but Piccioli took the trend to the next jaw-dropping level. Below are some of my favorite looks, and out of a 65-look collection made up almost entirely gowns, it wasn’t easy to pick.

Haute Couture is out of reach for the majority but like art it creates inspiration. It can transport you into a world of beauty and fantasy. Let’s be honest, we all could use a little bit of that now and again. I also think it’s important to take notice because what you see on the runway will eventually trickle down into ready to wear. For example, Chanel’s Spring 2014 Couture show featured sneakers, and we all know how much they have dominated not only ready to wear fashion shows but also in the streets. The front rows are often full of celebrities, because the couture shows will predict the next red carpet season.
