I’ve been researching for a while now about the benefits of retinol, but was waiting for the right product. Drunk Elephant A-Passioni retinol cream is on my list of Things I Love. I definitely think this is an amazing product and with actual results. Yes, you are going to go through some ups and downs with retinol. That is just part of the journey, but believe me make it through the downs.

When I was at Sephora they warned me about the strength and told me to add a little in the beginning so your skin can build a tolerance. It is absolutely strong, no exaggeration there. The second week in I started to notice my flaky skin, a bit of redness and sensitivity on my face. These are areas I’ve never had problems with before. All I did was cut back the days a bit and kept my skin hydrated with B-Hydra serum and Avene Thermal Spring Water spray. Most important thing to remember when using retinol, is don’t stop using it once you start. Just know there is light at the end of the tunnel. I’m still going through the process, but definitely seeing the benefits.

This is me no make-up after two weeks of using the retinol cream.

keep in mind…

That over the counter retinol products work at a slower pace then a prescribed one. They say a prescription you can see the benefits in 2-4 weeks, whereas over the counter can take a minimum 6 – 12 weeks. I’ve been a fan of Drunk Elephant for a while, so was excited to give their latest product a try. The A-Passioni retinol cream is clean and made with 0.1% vegan retinol.

There is so much false information floating around the internet that can make retinol seem kind of scary to use. I would suggest reading this article from Allure magazine.Whatever you decide, make sure you read up on it first. Find something that suits your skin and also works with your budget.

Thanks so much for reading!
