Summer sweaters…you may think those two words don’t go together, but I believe that every woman needs at least one in her warm weather wardrobe. I recently had a friend ask me my opinion on summer sweaters and how to incorporate them into every day looks. Now I’m not talking about the sweaters that you would wear in the fall/winter, these sweaters are lighter weight. Fabrics to look for in a summer sweater that won’t leave you roasting are woven cotton, and a silk blend. I would recommend staying away from cashmere.
how to style summer sweaters
Ideal to drape over your shoulders in the evening, but can be your go-to in cooler settings. Have you ever considered the practicality of a light weight sweater? It can be the hottest day, but if you are stuck in air conditioning you will definitely appreciate the extra layer. Pair a pull-over with shorts, skirts and my personal fave, a tank dress. Look for one that you can dress up with the right accessories or wear casually with flip flops. Whatever style you decide make sure it’s versatile and functional.

This strictly comes down to personal taste. You really can’t go wrong either way. You could definitely have one in your WOW colors and the other in a neutral shade. Summer is a great time to add pop of color to your wardrobe. I often tell my clients, if you look great in hot pink, wear it the same way you would wear black.
7 Days of Style Tip: If your budget can only afford one, I would recommend a cardigan. It will give you more outfit options.
