Taylor Swift covers January 2020 British Vogue

Taylor Swift covers the first British Vogue issue of 2020. This isn’t a post about Swift, but more on the topic of sustainable fashion. I’ve posted about it before, but I feel that as we are heading into a new year it’s essential to re-visit the topic. The Editor-in-chief of British Vogue, went into the Chanel archive for the cover photo, styling Taylor in a Chanel tweed jacket from 2005/2006 season. Worn with an oversized collar white blouse. So fresh. The point is, a classic jacket from years ago can still be worn today. Accessories and how you style it, will always keep it current. I’m not saying buying designer is the only answer. Of course not. The key is fabric, cut, and how the garment is made.

buy less, wear more.

That’s my argument and I believe the key to having a sustainable wardrobe. Think about it, when you buy items that reflect your lifestyle, are in the colours that suit your complexion and are able to wear more than one way, you really don’t need a lot. An added bonus…it will actually save you money in the long run.

The closets I have seen were full of clothing, and barely worn. When I’m done, the closet has been downsized to key items and are wearing 100% of their clothing. What you will see, is a newfound sense of personal style.
