SALES: How To Shop Smarter

Women carrying shoppings bags and using smartphone, Retail, Shopping, Women, designer sales, womens fashion, sale deals, how to shop during sale time, sale tips, Only Women, Fashion, texting, smartphone, cityWe’ve been inundated with sales since Black Friday, but I really think that the real deals are during the month of January. In this post, I’m going to show you how to take advantage of a sale and shop smarter while doing it. Sales are a time where you can really score a great deal, like a designer great deal! So don’t get me wrong I love a steal…but when it comes to buying items for your wardrobe, I have a few SALE TIPS that I always follow and they have never let me down!

7 days of style sale tips:

  1. Take inventory of your closet. Go through your wardrobe and figure out what you’re missing or what you would like more of. I think sale time is perfect for upgrading your everyday basics.
  2. Don’t just buy something because it’s on sale. Unless you are going to wear it, what’s the point? It doesn’t matter if it’s the steal of the century…if you are never going to wear it, don’t spend the money no matter the amount.
  3. Sales are definitely the time to take advantage of designer goods. Where you might not normally pay full price, this is the time to get them. I know many women that have built fabulous, solid wardrobes with items they have purchased on sale.
  4. Sale Time is also about planning ahead. Quite a few of my designer shoes I have purchased on sale. This winter I’m looking for the perfect gladiator sandal to wear in the summer. If you love a quality shoe but can’t always afford the full price tag, honestly just wait for the sale.
  5. Sales are a time to try something different. And buy different I don’t mean the complete opposite of your personal style! I just mean this is the time to pick up that color you’ve been wanting to try but don’t want to pay the full amount. I recommend looking for sweaters, blouses, button down tops, long sleeve shirts, turtlenecks,, t-shirts in a pop of color that suits you.
  6. ACCESSORIES. Sunglasses, handbags, silk scarves, shoes, jewelry. You can honestly find steals!

Last minute holiday party outfit idea

On Sunday morning I found out that I had a Christmas party to attend that evening and my day was already booked with plans, so there was no way I was heading to the mall to find an outfit to wear. However I knew that I didn’t need to do that. Instead of panicking, I knew that I could put a look together last minute because I had the key items in my closet.

I tucked my black turtleneck into my black pencil skirt which instantly created a little black dress! Put on my double breasted grey plaid blazer, black tights, black ankle boots and of course what takes the outfit to that dressy level is the statement jewelry.

Having the wardrobe essentials in my closet, allows me to create endless outfit options. ❤️

When you buy something, make sure you are able to create a few different outfit options.  If you have multiple parties to attend and you buy one bright red dress…well then everyone is going to remember it. However if you buy an item that you can wear many ways…that is key.

Follow my style tips and you will be set this holiday season. And please don’t buy 5 dresses for 5 different parties…no need for that.

that’s never good. People shouldn’t succumb to a trend,

they should interpret the trend”.
