My Top Sweater Picks

I love my grey cashmere turtleneck sweater. I got it in Italy a few years ago. It’s my go-to on those cold school pick up days and also a classic piece for my wardrobe.

Sweaters are a wardrobe staple, especially during this time of year when you want to be warm but still stylish. Below are some of my top sweater picks and a few style tips to keep in mind this winter. 😉

7 Days of Style Tip: Remember to look for a neck line that is flattering and also a style that is classic. For example I suit a turtleneck and a v-neck style. You may not think a neckline of a sweater matters, but it does.

7 Days of Style Tip: Don’t think you can only wear a sweater one way. You want to think outside the style box. For ex, the fair isle sweater below would look stunning with a long silk skirt, a fur collar, and ankle boots.

7 Days of Style Tip: To give an oversized sweater a different look, add a belt and pair it with slim bottom.

7 Days of Style Tip: Neutral hues don’t just mean black, white, grey…add a pop of colour to your wardrobe. When you wear the right colour close to your face, it will highlight your features and give you an instant glow…and who doesn’t want that!?

Last minute holiday party outfit idea

On Sunday morning I found out that I had a Christmas party to attend that evening and my day was already booked with plans, so there was no way I was heading to the mall to find an outfit to wear. However I knew that I didn’t need to do that. Instead of panicking, I knew that I could put a look together last minute because I had the key items in my closet.

I tucked my black turtleneck into my black pencil skirt which instantly created a little black dress! Put on my double breasted grey plaid blazer, black tights, black ankle boots and of course what takes the outfit to that dressy level is the statement jewelry.

Having the wardrobe essentials in my closet, allows me to create endless outfit options. ❤️

When you buy something, make sure you are able to create a few different outfit options.  If you have multiple parties to attend and you buy one bright red dress…well then everyone is going to remember it. However if you buy an item that you can wear many ways…that is key.

Follow my style tips and you will be set this holiday season. And please don’t buy 5 dresses for 5 different parties…no need for that.

Three Ways To Wear a Blouse

work wear classics styling tips womens fashion ideas back to work outfit ideas mom style ideasThe utilitarian blouse is a wardrobe staple of mine. I wear it the same way I wear the classic white blouse, with everything.  In the first image, I’m wearing the blouse causally with jeans, black puffer coat, black ankle boots and choker necklace.

In the second image, I’ve kept my outfit monochromatic and left the blouse unbuttoned. Wearing the same black ankle boots and black turtleneck from previous post. An important styling tip to remember is that when you leave any blouse unbuttoned it acts like a soft blazer. Creating more outfit options for you.

In the third image you can dress the utilitarian blouse up by adding a skirt or simple slip dress, with a statement necklace or earrings.

When you can wear an item from your closet three different ways, your outfit options are endless. I feel like I say that in every post…but isn’t that what we all want from our wardrobe?
